DIY Simple Homemade Holiday Cards (Christmas, Hanukkah & Kwanzza)

I love the tradition of sending out a holiday card every year.

But I have never actually done it.

Perhaps this will be the year!

So if I do get cards out, I have not decided what type of holiday card it would be.  So for kicks I decided to try making a few cards.

I kept these very simple of course since that is that I (mostly) do around here: simple.

I personally celebrate Christmas, but as I was making the Christmas Tree card I thought it would be so easy to do a card for Hanukkah and Kwanzaa as well!  And I actually like how they all turned out.

Here's a simple tutorial for an oh-so-simple card:

I took a patterned piece of card stock and cut it into the size of card I wanted.

Next I choose a plain colored piece of card stock, cut it smaller and glued it only the front of my card.

Then I cut out a simple tree shape.

Next I took the tree and cut it into a lot of little pieces.

Then I glued the little pieces to the card, only using every other piece and leaving a blank spot where the piece would go.  (Does that make sense?)

Anyway, this is the result: a cute, simple, modern Christmas card!

Using a similar philosophy (simple straight shapes), I created a Hanukkah and Kwanzaa card too.

What do you think?  Will you be making, buying, or going digital with your Holiday cards this year?

I participate in the link parties found here.
