Disney FROZEN Ice Inspired Peppermint Rock Candy + Christmas Gift Idea for a Girl #FrozenFun #shop #cbias

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been
compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

I have a 7 year old daughter and she loves all things girly.  She loves to dress up, loves the color pink (with purple as a close second) and the more sparkles the better.  So when I heard that Disney was releasing another movie soon, FROZEN, I was thrilled!  From the previews it looks like a great movie for both my daughter and son to go see and we are anxiously awaiting its release!

FROZEN is about a girl named Anna who sets off on an adventure to find her sister Elsa, and to save the kingdom from being eternally trapped in winter.  It looks like it will be a movie that both my son and daughter will enjoy and I am looking forward to taking them to see it!  Because I am just sure my daughter will love this movie, and I am working on my Christmas shopping, I think my daughter would LOVE to get a few Disney FROZEN toys for Christmas.  And I am totally going to show you what I found for her at WalMart for Christmas!

But before we get to that, I wanted to show you a really yummy FROZEN Ice Inspired Candy that we made to commemorate the release of this new Disney movie!  My children have both already seen several previews for this movie and are so excited about it!  Because Elsa traps the kingdom in eternal winter, the movie is set mostly in a snowy icy land.  And I was so inspired by the ice that I wanted to create an ice-inspired candy!

So I created this: FROZEN Inspired Peppermint Rock Candy

Peppermint Rock Candy | #recipe #peppermint #candy #frozenfun #shop #cbias

Peppermint Rock Candy

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 4-5 drops neon blue food coloring

Directions:

  1. Place sugar, corn syrup and salt in a heavy duty pan with a thick bottom.
  2. Over low heat, slowly bring mixture to a boil, stirring often.
  3. Let it boil until it reaches 300 degrees or hard crack stage.
  4. Remove from heat and add peppermint extract and food coloring.  Stir.
  5. Poor in a parchment lined pan.
  6. Let cool completely.
  7. Use your hands or a knife to crack the candy into smaller pieces.

It was quite simple to make (if you don't count my first attempt during which my candy thermometer was not actually in the liquid so it burned before I realized that it had reached the proper temperature and my whole house smelt like burnt sugar...ew).  So.  As long as you are sure your candy thermometer is properly IN your candy liquid as you are heating it, and you don't heat it too fast, this is honestly quite simple to make!  Promise!

As a side note, the best way to clean your dishes after creating something like this is to throw everything into the pot you used to create this candy in and boil water!  The candy mixture will come right off!

My children both loved this candy and it was really fun to make!  The bright blue color reminds me of ice and is just perfect to commemorate FROZEN coming out soon!

I am also excited to say that my holiday shopping is almost complete!  I just need a few stocking stuffers for my husband and I am done!  The big gift that we are getting our daughter I was able to snag while shopping at WalMart the other day!  On the end cap of a toy aisle was a great display of FROZEN toys!

I knew right away that my daughter would LOVE the Disney FROZEN Castle.  This castle has both an Ice Castle for Elsa and a beautiful Castle for Anna.

I picked up both an Anna and an Elsa doll as well for her!  I just know that she is going to LOVE this gift for Christmas!  We can't wait to give them to her!
