If you follow me on Facebook, you might have seen that I was in a hardware store the other day considering purchasing a Kreg Jig!  I have been wanting one for months now and have been trying to think of how to make this a part of my tool collection!

Photo: At one of my favorite stores, contemplating a new purchase :) #powertools #kreg

My husband and I both love tools, but sometimes for different purposes.  He loves working on cars, and we both love doing home projects.  So I knew I would have to sell my husband on a Kreg Jig before we could invest in one.

So I started gathering all sorts of ideas of fabulous things we could build IF we had a Kreg Jig. I started of dreaming big but soon realized that convincing my husband to help me build a new kitchen table wasn't the route to go (at least at first).  So I decided to start smaller and found some great ideas on revamping plain old bathroom mirrors by adding molding to them!  I found lots of ideas and slowly started building my case to my husband.

Case in point: our really boring bathroom mirrors (my husband and I have separate vanities so this is just one of them...the other looks identical)

So last Saturday when my husband casually asked me if I had any plans for the day and I said no, I had no ideas the next words out of his mouth would be "Well, would you like to go to the store and look at a Kreg Jig and possibly some supplies to do those mirrors?"

WOULD I!?!?!?  Heck yes!!  So off we went, with two screaming kids in tow (ok, only one of the screamed through most of the store, the other one just loudly whined) to spend about an hour in one of my favorite hardware stores.

We decided to buy the Kreg Jig, a new saw blade and then we came up with a mirror plan we both LOVED while our children watched Dora on my confiscated, now sticky phone.

Our mirror frames aren't even close to being done but I couldn't wait to show you a little sneak peek...

We started off my measuring our mirrors and laying out the wood like we wanted it to be.  We then marked and cut the wood to size.

Next...using our amazing new tool, I drilled our holes and then screwed the frame together.

Yup.  That's me.  Rockin' the Cordless Drill 🙂

I drilled all the holes and assembled the frame!  And honestly folks, it was AMAZINGLY SIMPLE!!  Seriously...so simple.  So easy.  So QUICK!  I am in love.

I can't wait to finish assembling the mirrors (we are adding crown molding to the top), stain them and get them up!  They are going to look FAB.U.LOUS!

I also have a few "what NOT to do"'s that I will be sharing with you soon as well.  Yes, I am going to share my big fat failures with you in a post coming soon!

My latest crush...on a Kreg Jig.  (and yes my husband knows 🙂  Do you have a favorite power tool?
