This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Goody, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #GoodyGorgeous http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

The after-school hours are crazy: especially Tuesdays.  My daughter gets home from school and within 15-20 minutes she needs to eat a snack and be out the door to ballet lessons.  We don't do a lot of after school activities, but if you are a mom or dad of school aged children you know how busy those after school hours can be.  One of the things I always need to help my daughter with is her hair.  After she gets home from school her long hair needs a good brush and before ballet, a nicely done bun.  She loves pretty and fancy buns.  She loves something a little special and so I came up with this really fun, and simple Braided Ballerina Bun!

Braided Ballerina Bun

This sweet little bun only takes a few minutes to do and it is the perfect little hair-do for your little ballerina, or any little girl!  And these new brushes I grabbed from Walgreens are the perfect brushes to help keep my daughter's hair and our afternoons orderly.  I picked up the Goody® TangleFix and QuikStyle half round brushes 2 for 1 with my Balance Rewards Card.  (Promotion good from 9/28/14 - 11/1/14, while supplies last.  You can sign up for a Balance Rewards Card in store when you shop.)

Goody Brushes

To create a Braided Ballerina Bun, you will need:

  • Goody® TangleFix Brush (or similar)
  • 1 clear hair elastic
  • 6-10 bobby pins
  • Ribbon if desired

Supplies for Braided Ballerina Bun

First you will brush your little girl's hair up into a high ponytail and secure with a clear elastic.  We love the TangleFix because it gently loosens the tangles in her hair and makes it easy to pull a high ponytail up quickly.

High Ponytail

Next you will take a portion of the ponytail and braid it.

Braid

Have your little one hold the braid end while you twist the rest of the hair into a high bun and secure tightly with bobby pins.

Bun

Wrap the braid around the bun and secure in place with additional bobby pins.

Wrap Braid around Bun

Tie a pretty pink ribbon around the bun and secure with a bobby pin if needed.

Tie Bow

And in a few minutes, my pretty ballerina goes from just off the school bus to ballet ready!  This is truly one of her favorite new hair styles and I love how simple it is to create while still looking fun and stylish!

Braided Ballerina Bun

And after a long day, my daughter can shower and blow dry her hair in only a few minutes with the Goody® QuikStyle brush.  We were both shocked how the microfiber bristles really help speed up the dry time of her hair!

Sooo funny that you posted this because I did this exact same thing for the first time two weeks ago for my daughter. I have trouble keeping her hair from slipping out of her bin because it's so straight. So, I braided it and did the very same thing and I agree - it's a keeper! Going to check out those brushes too. Anything to make de-tangling easier is a winner in my book! 🙂
