All opinions are mine.

I have had several iPhone, iPad, iPod etc. cords stop working on me over the years.  In my experience I have found the connection near the top and bottom plug to be a bit finicky.  And over time, the cord tends to bend there and the connection stops working.  As I am sure many of you have done, I have dropped $30 to buy a new cord when my old one starts to go on me and so I was thrilled to find a simple and easy way to fix an iPhone cord!

Please note that I have never tried this on a cord that is already acting finicky, but I have used it as a preventative measure on a cord that I know is starting to go.  However, based on how my cords have always gone bad in the past, I think this would also work if your cord is already having trouble charging due to the connection between the cord and plug being bent.

To fix my iPhone cord, I used sugru!  Have you heard of this?

If you want to try sugru out for fixing an iPhone cord or for fixing any other items, sugru is offering a discount!  Woot Woot!

sugru is a really cool playdough-like material that sets as a self-setting rubber!  It has so many uses including fixing many household items and creating protection as well.  This is some of the coolest stuff ever!

To Fix my iPhone Cord, I took about ⅓ - ½ of a package of white sugru and massaged it in between my fingers for a bit.  Then I shaped it around the cord and made sure to extend it up onto the plug and down on the cord for a bit as well.  I wanted to be sure I created a really nice protective layer to prevent my cord from bending anymore and from going bad on me.

I let it completely set for 24 hours as directed and I was so pleased with how it turned out!  My cord has a protective encasing to help keep the cord from bending more then it should!  But it is still a bit flexible.

Using sugru to fix my iPhone cord saved me time and money!  (My Apple store is a 30 minute drive from my house!)  But mostly I love it because I was able to fix this myself!

I love that it comes in basic colors like black and white (so it matched my cord!) but it also comes in brighter colors too like red, yellow and blue!  So fun!

Wow! I would use it like you did- to save my iphone cords. We've gone through FIVE iphone/ipad cords this year alone. I'm over having to buy them!

I would use it to make a plastic thimble for my fingers for when I embroidery. None of the thimbles work for my finger, and I would try this...... How cool is that. Thanks for the give away.

Help! I need Sugru! I have boys tennis shoes with a hole, I have a Lacrosse stick with a ripped net, I have 3 iPhone cords that are barely hanging on. The handel on the popcorn bowl has cracks, and this family needs to have their weekend popcorn. The dogs collar has too big of a hole where it closes, and so the collar comes undone, and the dog escapes when we go for a walk. I would use some
