St. Patrick's Day isn't about lots of home decor crafts for me.  I mean I do a few, but I think that St. Patrick's Day is such a fun Kid Holiday that I like to try to come up with a craft or two for my kids to do each year!  So today I am showing off some really cute and really SIMPLE Leprechaun Finger Puppets!

You Will Need:
  • Green craft foam
  • White craft foam
  • Orange pipe cleaner
  • Green felt
  • Scissors
  • Black ball point pen
  • Tacky, craft, elmer's or hot glue

First you will want to cut all of your pieces out.  I traced my head using a small glass measuring cup, and I just winged the hat.  Also cut your pipe cleaner and felt as well.  Your felt will want to be about as long as your finger and wide enough to go around your finger plus extra (or your kid's finger...whoever plans to play with these 🙂
Use hot glue to glue the felt into a tube and then to glue the top of the tube ends together.  Glue the head to the felt, and the hat to the head.  Add your orange pipe cleaner beard as well.
Use a pen to draw on the face and the buckle around the hat.
You can involve your children as much or as little as they are able to help in an age-appropriate manner.  My 6 year old can make one of these almost all by herself, but her 3 year old brother needs a lot of help cutting and drawing, but he can glue like no-one's business 🙂

And after your kids have helped to make these Leprechaun Puppets, they can then play with them!
Aren't they so fun!?
