Outdoor and Garden Projects 2013 #DigIn #DigInHD #ad

My husband and I LOVE spending time outdoors!  When we bought our home we loved everything about it except for the fact that it was new, so there was no backyard and landscaping was minimal.  Thankfully we have a lot of vision and don't mind hard work so we have already begun to make huge changes in our backyard!  And we have many more plans that we would love to get started on in 2013!

With warmer weather coming, we are excited to #DigIn and tackle a few projects on our wish list this year!  I am not sure how much we will get done, but here are a few ideas we have in mind:

The first area that needs help is the left side of our home; it's quite bare.  We would love to get started on creating our vision for this portion of our yard this Spring.

We would like to continue the landscaping (plants, bushes, flowers etc) and mulch around the side of our house. Towards the back of the house we would love to build a raised planter box and plant a small garden!  Our kids are begging for a garden and this would be the perfect location to start one!

At the back of the home, the landscaping and garden area would be accessible through a small trellis that we want to build to match the pergola over our deck we built two years ago.  (You can see our deck and pergola project here.)

(I realize this is far from a professional rendering, but it should give you a basic idea of what we are imagining here.)
Another project we are dreaming of involves adding another outdoor living area to our back yard.

We would like to build a circular (flagstone, paver or similar) patio area with a built-in fire pit to add additional outdoor living space to our yard!  We would also add a flagstone or paver path from the deck to the new patio area to make it easily accessible.
Add a couple of Adirondacks chairs on the patio and we would have an additional entertaining space in our  back yard that I know we would get a lot of use out of!  (Plus a place to roast marshmallows too!)

There are of course many other ideas we have for our backyard.  Our vision is much bigger then our budget and time, but we love to dream big and we realize that it is ok if it doesn't get done all at once.
I am so excited for Spring because this is the ideal time to work on outdoor projects like these.  And thankfully, The Home Depot is here to help!
