I was incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to get to test out a Select Brands babycake Pie Pop Maker!

What is a Pie Pop?  It is a small pie, on a stick!

How fabulous is that!?

And of course, it means I get to use an incredibly fun kitchen gadget from Select Brands!

So, this is my third babycakes appliance, and as I was unpacking it, I had this thought that it would sure be nice if there was a handy way to store the cord.  I flipped the Pie Pop Maker over and sure enough...there is a place to wrap the cord!  Babycakes products are incredible!

And then I got to baking!

I rolled store-bought refrigerated pie dough out and used the cute circular cookie cutter that came with the Pie Pop Maker.  Each pie pop requires two dough circles.

First you will place a dough circle in the pie pop maker and then you will place your pop stick in each crevice.

I added ½-1 teaspoon of pre-made Strawberry Rhubarb pie filling (yum!) And placed the second dough circle on top.  Closed the pie pop maker and let they cook for about 2-3 minutes.

They turned out quite good and quite pretty!

Overall I really loved the Pie Pop Maker!  It was so easy to use and it took very little time to use and to clean.  As with all babycakes products, it is well made, has fabulous non-stick coating and is a whole lot of fun to use!

But as with all things, the first time you make these, I learned a few things.

First, I learned that if you accidentally leave a batch in too long and the pie pop started to come apart.

They still taste yummy, but aren't as pretty.

Secondly, I learned that it is important to roll the pie dough out really thin., otherwise they taste too...pie dough-y.

Thirdly, the directions recommend filling with ½-1 t of filling.  I think the more filling the better, so use closer to 1t.  (If you fill them too full, they won't seal right either so there is a delicate balance.)

Honestly though, I think it is a really fun product and I think with a little more practice I will be able to have beautiful and tasty Pie Pops consistently!

What a fun product!!

If you had a Select Brands babycakes Pie Pop Maker, what would you fill your pie pops with?

I was not compensated for this review.  Select Brands provided me with a babycakes Pie Pop Maker for purposes of doing this review.  However, all opinions expressed are 100% mine.
