Hello friends and followers of Ashley and Simply Designing. I'm Meredith from Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home, and I'm absolutely THRILLED to be here today! I was honored when Ashley asked me to guest post on her blog, as I've been a fan for a long time. She has some really awesome and unique ideas if you ask me!

I'm married, have a 20 month old running around the house, and have another little one on the way expected to make his or her debut on or before June 9th {hoping for before}! I've been blogging for a year now, and really enjoy all the new friendships I've made as a result.

Now, my husband my argue that I'm not the best cleaner in the entire world, but I think I do a pretty good job, especially with said toddler running around immediately after I finally get something in the house cleaned or put away. As part of her Spring Cleaning series, I was eager to share my DIY Shower Cleaner with all of you. The best part about it? There are no toxic chemicals which is always a good thing in my book! I absolutely hate the smell of strong cleaners, don't you?

DIY Shower Cleaner

To make the cleaner, you'll need:

8 oz. Dawn Dish Detergent {I've always used the classic dark blue kind for this cleaner}

8 oz. warm distilled white vinegar

a few drops of essential oils {optional}

20 oz. spray bottle

scrub brush

ingredients

Pretty straight forward here people...squeeze 8 oz. of Dawn dish detergent into your empty spray bottle. If you buy an empty bottle at the store, try to find a variety that has measurements on it already{makes life a little easier} . Warm 8 oz. of distilled white vinegar in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds, then pour the vinegar into the bottle with the Dawn. To make the cleaner have a bit more of a pleasant scent, you can add a few drops of essential oils in your favorite scent.

DIY SHOwer cleaner

After putting the cap on the mixture, shake it up to mix the ingredients all together. Spray on all surfaces in your shower {tile, caulking, shower fixtures, floor, walls, glass doors, etc...}

dirty

Let stand for at least 10 minutes.

Then get ready to do some scrubbing with your handy dandy scrub brush.

Soon you'll have a beautiful, glistening, clean shower in no time!

Do you have any tried and true homemade cleaning solutions that you swear by? I'd love to hear them!

Thanks again to Ashley for having me join in her Spring Cleaning series! If you like my idea, I've got tons more great projects, crafts, and recipes at Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home! Stop by sometime and say hello!

    I've been using this shower cleaner recipe for a few months now and it is by FAR the best cleaner out there! I can't believe I spent so much time and money on those store bought sprays when this works so much better and costs just pennies!

    I really like DIY stuff. I enjoy making stuff of my own and then using it for something that can help me. Cleaning is a big part of my life since I have 3 children and they always need cleaning for and after them. Thanks for sharing, Ashley!
