I have a couple of decorative vases, but I really wanted another set. So, being inspired by my feature from last week, I set off to the dollar store to make my own.

I picked up 2 candle stick holders and the small vase from the dollar store. I also got super glue from the dollar store as well!

Then I went to Hobby Lobby in search of a matching vase and to my surprise...I found one! They are the same width, but the one from Hobby Lobby is just a bit taller then the other one. It was a $5 vase, but it was on sale for 50% off. So all totaled, this project cost me $6.50. Not bad.

All you do it super glue the candle stick holders to the vases and let them sit for about 24 hour until they are really secure.

Next, fill with yummy holiday-inspired candy (I used candy corns and gummy worms) and try not to eat them all before anyone sees them!

Happy Halloween!

I make pedestal plates very much the same way, but my experience w/ super glue is that it holds for a while and that's it! I now use Goo or Goop from the Dollar Store. It's amazing! It makes a nice strong bond and it's water proof, it can be used on anything but paper! It's my new bff!
