It's a really fun day today!
Today I have the opportunity to GIVEAWAY a SILHOUETTE PORTRAIT!  (woot woot!)
Win a SILHOUTTE PORTRAIT!!!! #giveaway #silhouette @SimplyDesigning

Plus, Silhouette is also offering an amazing June Promotion!  You can save BIG on two bundles including a Silhoutte + Heat Transfer vinyl!

June Silhouette Promotion + Silhouette Giveaway #giveaway #silhouette @SimplyDesigning

I LOVE Heat Transfer Vinyl!  It is truly one of my favorite vinyls to use for projects!  I've used heat transfer vinyl for many Holiday Shirts as well as a really cute Library Tote!

Silhouette's Heat Transfer starter kit includes several pieces of heat transfer vinyl and flocked heat transfer vinyl, a weeding tool, a CD showing you how to create with heat transfer vinyl as well as an exclusive download card!

And during this promotion ALL Heat Transfer products are Buy 1 Get 1 FREE!

I decided to whip up a really cute little bag for my son to take a few quiet toys in to church.  I used heat flocked vinyl but traditional heat transfer vinyl works as well!

Decorative Tote using Heat Transfer Vinyl (flocked vinyl) - #vinyl #silhouette @SimplyDesigning

When using heat transfer vinyl here are a few tips to remember:

  • mirror all images and text prior to cutting
  • shiny side goes down when cutting the vinyl
  • weeding can be a little more difficult then traditional vinyl, so take your time
  • the "shiny" side is your transfer paper
  • iron without any steam

The first item I’d make would be a shirt for my Grandma with all of her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s names on it, and may be some cool design. She loves things like that and wants a new one, and it would be great to be able to say it was handmade, rather than ordering it through an online company. Plus I’ve wanted to own one of these forever! Thanks for the chance to put my name in

Since it appears that silhouttee (SP) are easier to use than Cricut I would love one. I just started to dabble with my cricut some and have done a few projects. However something like split letter is really difficult to do etc. If I won in all seriousness I would give it to my friend. She doesn't have any of them, and is on a fixed income. Her husband got hurt at work and a year later they have him resign. So life is pretty tough. Plus she has some disease, but you would never know the pain she is in, or if she had a bad day not feeling good. She is good to everyone and gives what she can. I would definitely give it to her if I won.
