As part of my Expressions Vinyl ambassadorship, this month myself and a few other amazing bloggers were challenged to create a back to school themed project using, some really fun and pretty vinyl from Expressions Vinyl! After a lot of brainstorming I came up with a really fun and cute gift idea that would be perfect for your child to bring their new teacher on the first day of school! Here is my Personalized Apple Teacher Gift idea!

To create this Teacher Gift, you will need:
- Glass container with lid
- Twine
- Outdoor Vinyl, Red
- Outdoor Vinyl, Brown
- Outdoor Vinyl, Yellow Green
- Outdoor Vinyl, White
- Transfer Tape
- Silhouette Cutting Machine
- Apple Design from Silhouette online store (I used Design ID #10809 Green Apple)
- Candy
I first measured the diameter of my lid. And then I cut a green circle a little bit smaller then the lid. I then cut a white vinyl circle about ½" smaller then the green circle.
I next pulled up my apple design in my Silhouette software program and used the knife tool to divide it into three sections: the apple, the stem and the leaf. You can leave these as is and simply cut the apple out in one color, but I wanted to cut mine using different colors of vinyl so the knife tool worked perfectly for this application!
And yes, there is probably an apple design where these parts are already divided, however I already had this shape so I didn't want to spend the money on a new one and this took just a few seconds to divide.
So I cut out all of my apple shapes and also the teacher's name and then weeded the vinyl.
After I weeded the vinyl, I used transfer tape to put all the designs onto the lid, one layer at a time.
Then I filled the jar with candy and added a cute twine bow to it and in about 10 minutes I had a really fun and cute teacher gift that I know my daughter and son will love giving to their teachers!
As a side note, you can also use indoor vinyl for this project as well. The outdoor vinyl is a bit more shiny, more permanent and more water resistant. In this application, either indoor or outdoor would work.
Aren't these just so cute!?!?
