Now on to today's Tutorial.  Today we are going to learn how to make this: a beautiful layered hair flower!

(Wow!  That's big!)

All you need it:

  • Fabric (just slightly wider then the width you want the final flower piece to be)
  • Button making kit (can get from any sewing store or even at WalMart)
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Hot glue
  • Prelined alligator clip (go here to see my tutorial on that!)

Step 1:

layered+flower+01 | Hair Flower Week - Layered Hair Flower | 25 |

Cut (6) circles the same size.  Cut the circles in the same diameter size that you want your final hair piece to be.

Step 2:

layered+flower+03 | Hair Flower Week - Layered Hair Flower | 26 |

Fold each circle in half, then in half again.  Cut the end so it is rounded.  Do this for all (6) circles.

Step 3:

Stack (2) of your circles on top of each other.
Fold the other (4) circles in half, then stack, overlapping as shown above.
Step 5:
Using needle and thread, sew all layers together.
Step 6:
Use the same or contrasting fabric to make your button following the button making directions that come with the kit.  Hot glue this to your flower.
Step 7:
Using a small piece of fabric, hot glue a circle of fabric to the underneath side of your flower.

Step 8:
Hot glue your prelined alligator clip to the underneath side of the clip and ENJOY!
