Silver Pine Cones {West Elm Knock-Off} {Silver and Gold Blog Series}

Every once in a while (aka all the time) I am inspired by products I fine in a store or a catalog, that the store does not actually sell. So in an effort to save myself money and time I love to find ways to DIY some of these fabulous ideas! I still consider them knock-offs because the store is promoting or showing off the item, even if I can't actually buy it in the store!

Well a little while ago I was inspired by some pretty silver pine cones I saw while wandering through West Elm and decided to recreate my own!

These were so easy to recreate! All you will need is pine cones and silver spray paint! Simply spray your pine cones with a coat or two of silver spray paint! Gold would work too if you prefer!

Here is what the pine cones at West Elm looked like:

And here are what mine look like:

You can't even tell the difference! I love how they turned out and I love the contrast of the natural rustic pine cone feel in sparkly silver! It is so unexpected yet elegant and rustic all at the same time!

I love what a coat of spray paint can do to almost anything!

    these are great, and now I want to make a set of "gold dipped" pinecones. I wonder what I'll use to cover the top of the pinecone to keep it from getting the paint on it!

    very pretty.
I have done, in years past, spray painted some green, put in variety of clay pot sizes or other containers you have on hand; decorated the cones and used as small pinecone trees.

      I had done that over 40 years ago.
When first married we couldn't afford a tree so I went around the neighborhood picking up pinecones from other people's yards; spray painted them; hence, that was our Christmas Trees that we had throughout the house. Back then, we made due with what we had and what we could afford. At that time I had A lot of pinecones sitting around the house
