Every year as a family we try to come up with ways to share the joy and spread love to those in need, our friends, our neighbors and our family.  Most recently we have started baking something on Sunday to deliver to someone on Monday.  It is a fun tradition and my kids love helping in the kitchen!  While we typically find a family to help and donate to a charity or two this time of year, we love to find new ways to help others and spread joy during this holiday season.
Spreading Joy Giveaway
So today I am really excited because I have joined forces with some of my favorite bloggers to host a Spreading JOY Giveaway where one of our lucy readers has the chance to win $400 cash! Cash that you can use for the holidays, to spread joy within your own family or to help someone else.  The choice is yours!
We are also donating over $175 to Toys for Tots and we would love it if you took a moment to donate to Toys for Tots or the charity of your choice this holiday season to help someone in need.  Or if that isn't a possibility for you, find someway to spread the joy this holiday season.  Whether is it going caroling, delivering cookies or just smiling to those you meet.
Here are a few fun ideas of things you can make and gift to spread a little joy this holiday season:

Always in a bright and cheery mood especially over the holiday season. We spread joy by getting together at my house and baking cookies galore and then dropping them off at elderly living centers around our city.

I enjoy spreading the joy all year round. I listen to the people around me (even those that aren't close) and try to help in whatever ways I can. It could be anything from a meal to a loan to clothing items. I enjoy sharing when I can even though I don't have much.

My family and I have a tradition every year we visit a care home for adults with developmental disabilities and we play Santa and his elves and give presents, cards, baked holiday treats and our time. It means so much to these people as many of them do not have any family. We've kind of adopted 2 care homes and have gotten to know the residents over the years. Honestly, it brings more joy to us when we see the joy on their faces. My youngest son was born with a rare developmental disorder and so this cause is one that is close to my heart.

I have worked retail for the last 5 holiday seasons and even though people can be jerks (like they have never worked in front of other people), holidays can be rougher. I plan to try and always keep that helpful attitude and smile and say my pleasure even when they are rude.

Wow, how amazing and generous of all of you. To be honest, I lost my precious Nana in May of this year. I know being without her would be hard so instead of staying home and enjoying Thanksgiving and Christmas I am actually volunteering in Atlanta both days to feed the needy and the hungry. I felt that this was more of a positive way to keep the joy alive rather staying home and getting sad which I know would of happened. Happy Holidays to you and yours! xo
