I am really excited to share a fun and simple holiday or winter decoration with you today! I have used a few of my favorite items, my Silhouette CAMEO and vinyl and I am really in love with how this project turned out! I combined a trendy and fun pattern of the buffalo check with a fun set of glittery antlers and this project ended up prettier than I imagined it. One of my favorite things about this project is that there is no sewing or fabric used! This entire project was created using a canvas and vinyl. Seriously. How cool is that!?
Buffalo Check Antler Decor
Here is what you will need:
- (1) 8.5" x 11" Inkjet Printable Vinyl
- (1) 12" x 24" Glitter Vinyl, Silver
- (1) sheet Transfer Tape
- Silhouette CAMEO or similar cutting machine, or just an exacto knife and cutting mat
- (1) 8" x 10" Canvas
For this project you will also need a buffalo check pattern (I found an inexpensive one on Etsy that I bought and downloaded) and then a used an antler cut file that I bought and downloaded from the Silhouette Store. You might also want an extra piece of vinyl or two, just in case.
You will begin by printing your buffalo check pattern onto your inkjet printable vinyl. Be sure that you know which side to print on and which direction to place the vinyl into your printer prior to printing it. And then double check you did it right, just in case.
While that is printing, you can download and size an antler cut file. Then cut the antler shape out of glitter vinyl and weed the vinyl and place transfer tape on it so that it is ready to apply.
Next you will apply your buffalo check printed vinyl to the canvas. I used scissors to trim off any excess vinyl.
Then you will apply the glitter antlers to the canvas.
Easy as can be! This project is so fun and simple and I just love how it turned out! I just love decorating vinyl and I really love how versatile it is. And seriously, the printable vinyl has so many possibilities!
