Fall has finally arrived here at Happiness is Homemade headquarters (that's in northern California, for those of you who didn't know!), and my boys (aged 3, 6 and 7) are loving the vibrant autumn colors.  They've been eager to create a fall kids craft, so I came up with these quick and easy fall leaf wreaths for them to make.

These wreaths are incredibly simple to make, so they're appropriate for all age groups from toddler to adult.

Supplies Needed:

  • Paper plate
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Colorful leaves
  • Ribbon or twine
  • Paint (optional)

The best part about this craft is that it is SO versatile in terms of materials.  If you don't have paper plates, you can substitute with a circle cut out of recycled cardboard or heavy paper.  Practically any glue will work as long as it is strong enough to attach a leaf to the cardboard. Fresh leaves, dried leaves, faux leaves, and construction paper leaves all work equally as well.

Start by cutting the plate into a ring shape. If desired, at this point you can paint the ring to match your decor before you start applying the leaves.

Use the glue to attach the leaves. Allow to dry completely. Add a second layer of leaves if necessary to fill in any gaps or large spaces.

Tie on a ribbon or some twine, and these gorgeous fall leaf wreaths are ready for hanging and displaying!
