I haven't made a wreath in a while, but I've been meaning to put an updated wreath on my front door and I finally got around to making one!  I decided to use felt since it is inexpensive, a no-sew fabric and it comes in so many pretty colors!  Here is my Simple Spring Felt Wreath!

To make a wreath, you will need:

  • (3) Colors of Felt (approximately 3 sheets each)
  • (1) Straw Wreath, plastic left on
  • Pinking Shears
  • Low Temp Hot Glue Gun

First you will cut all of your felt into thin strips using pinking shears.  I made my light pink the thinnest, then my hot pink a little thicker and the grey was the thickest strips.

Alternating the order, you will lay the felt strips around the straw wreath and hot glue them in place.  I made sure to vary the amount of felt that showed just a bit as well.

After you are done, you can make some simple felt flowers to hot glue to the wreath.  (See my tutorial for simple felt flowers HERE)  I followed this tutorial except that I cut my felt using pinking shears for this project.

Hang your wreath on your front door and enjoy the bright springy happy wreath you've just created!

This wreath would also be perfect for Valentine's Day.  But I love mine for Spring too!

Do you hang a spring wreath?

Definitely going to try this! Such pretty color combos. Thinking of using similar grey but go for a turquoise blue like this one... (http://www.onlinefabricstore.net/craft-supplies/craft-felt-fabric/polyester-felt/peacock-felt-fabric-.htm)

This wreath is SO PRETTY! The color combination and the texture of the felt is out of this world. I love it.

I shared it in a Valentine's Day Wreath Roundup. I'd love for you to take a peek and share if you think your audience would like it. 🙂
