We LOVE to be outside as much as possible!  Even in the hot hot summer, I have time scheduled every day to just play outside!  And it is one of my kid's favorite parts of the day.  We love to ride bikes and play in the sprinklers, we love to take walks and go to the park, we love to roller blade and we love to head to the pool.  We also LOVE to play games!  So I am really excited to share a really fun and simple outdoor (or indoor) game, perfect for kids (and adults) of all ages!  Here is my simple and fun version of Corn Hole!

To make your own Corn Hole Game, you will need:

  • Tabletop of Kids Cornhole Board
  • Dena Designs 12 x 12 Scrapbook Paper Pack
  • Mod Podge, Matte
  • Foam Brush
  • Cutting Mat with Knife, 8.5" x 11.75"
  • Fabric Palette Charm Square Pack, Splash Collection
  • Stitch Witchery, or a sewing machine and thread
  • Rice
supplies to make your own corn hole game

First you will use your mod podge to adhere the scrapbook paper of your choice to your pre-made cornhole board!  I choose one paper for the top and a contrasting paper for the sides. I used my foam brush to apply mod podge to the wood and then I carefully placed the scrapbook paper onto the board.  Once it was dry, I used my knife and cutting mat to trim off the excess paper. If you really want to secure the paper to the board a bit better, you can apply a layer of mod podge on top of the scrapbook paper as well.  Let that dry completely.

While the mod podge is drying you can work on assembling your bean bags!  I don't love sewing, so I used stitch witchery that I had on hand to iron the fabric squares together.  I placed the squares inside out and ironed three sides together.  Then I turned the bean bag right-side out, filled it with rice, flipped the last edge in and ironed the final edge together.

After I had my bean bags assembled and my corn hole game beautified, we were ready to play!

I had so much fun assembling this fun game for my family!  It didn't take very long to put together and we ended up with a really fun outdoor (or indoor) game!  That we all really enjoyed playing together!
